When we moved to Maui from Northern California more than 12 years ago, most of the great vacation rentals on Maui were booked by 'coconut wireless,'  word of mouth. We started Maui Tropical Rentals back then as a place for our friends on the mainland to get straightforward information about Maui and the island's vacation condos and homes.
